Go back to MasterBath

May 10, 2005

The inspector came again today, and I guess they passed inspection this time (unlike MasterBath/Day09) because Tracy didn't get any calls in the middle of the day.

Today the crew installed the second window, looking into the courtyard.

That's $500 of double-paned, wood-interior, metal-clad-exterior double-hung window. How much?!! That's right: $500, and our only criteria was that the window be double-hung with a wood finish. We didn't even dare to try and reproduce the pattern of "lights" in most of our windows. After shopping around, we sorta got over the sticker shock and bought two of them. It costs a lot to keep old homes looking old.

You'll never guess how much a 5-panel door costs!

There's also a new vapor-proof can light (over the shower), and insulation in the walls.

Exterior view: it's still not clear why they removed all those shingles.

I found more old termite damage, just above the foundation and mud sill.
