Go back to MasterBath
Day 10: May 09, 2005
Today, Juan explained why the inspectors had failed the constructions:
- the existing drainage line from the toilet did not have the proper slope (the previous owners installed a section of drainage with no slope)
staples in the shower pan membrane are bad (something about no punctures in membrane below 3" damn)
cap the old toilet drainage line (where does it go?), which I noticed back on MasterBath/Day05
- and a couple of other problems
So today the crew worked on the plumbing: they installed a new shower pan, and laid toilet drainage with the proper slope.
They didn't mention anything about charging us additional fees for the new plumbing...

Shower-pan-guy noted that he had forgotten to take into account the pony wall, which separates the shower stall from the toilet. So they would have had to redo the whole thing anyways.
When we got home, the shower pan was full of water. I'm assuming this is part of a test, because otherwise...
The new toilet drain. You can see where the new section of pipe meets the old section.
More plumbing for the new sink. The water lines look a little crooked.
Electrical ground is tied to the cold-water pipe.
