The ozone is in the equipment area, so you should be able to see it and tell if it works by looking for a blue or green U.V. light.......but the ozone gas is also used to "HEAT THE WATER!" Inside the control box there are two fish tank style air pumps that pump air into one end of the ozone, and air comes out the other end of the ozone unit and goes to the bottom of the filter canister behind the skirt where the ozone bubbles up through the bottom of filter, and it creates a small flow of water, very much the same as a fish tank air pump inside of a stand pipe. If the ozone does not flow and bubbles don't come out of the center filter pipe inside of filter canister, there won't be enough water flow to turn on the heater. It seems like a good deal, 24 hr ozone, 24 hour filter and heat...but those air pumps and hose seem very unreliable. Make sure the dispersion stone inside the filter is not clogged, and that there are bubbles coming out. The heater will also stop working if the filter lid is removed.
